Working with Jimbo Mathus, the legendary founder of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, was an incredible opportunity that allowed me to combine my passion for his music with my expertise in branding and web design. As a fan of his work, I was honored when he approached me to help solidify his online presence in preparation for some major album releases and tours. We worked together to build a strong digital foundation that would reflect his legacy, while propelling him into the modern age of social media and online engagement.

The first step in this transformation was the creation of a brand-new logo, electronic press kit (EPK), and website. Jimbo’s career, both as a solo artist and with the Squirrel Nut Zippers, spans decades of iconic music and artistry. We wanted his website to be a comprehensive representation of his artistic journey, showcasing his album catalog, artwork, and upcoming projects.

As the website launched, it became clear that a strong social media presence was key for Jimbo to engage with his ever-growing fanbase. While Jimbo had a long history in the music scene, he hadn’t yet cracked the code on using social media to its full potential. I worked closely with him to develop a social media strategy tailored to his brand. The campaign ran alongside the launch of his album These 13, a collaboration with Andrew Bird, and was instrumental in amplifying his visibility.

Throughout the years, I’ve continued to support Jimbo as he tours across the country. Whether it’s providing on-site social media support, updating his website, or troubleshooting technical issues in real-time, I’ve been there to ensure his digital presence is as smooth and effective as his musical performances. This ongoing collaboration has allowed us to elevate Jimbo’s brand, keeping him relevant and engaging in the current digital age while preserving the timeless appeal that he’s known for.

I also made sure that Jimbo’s website is fully updatable, allowing him to easily add new features and content as his career evolves. This includes adding new tour dates, updates on artistic residencies, and even promoting projects like his documentary work (including “It’s All Country” streaming on HULU). Featuring artists like Wynonna Judd and Luke Bryan) ensuring his site remains fresh and dynamic as he continues to create.
